Application of Desulfurization Pump in Flue Gas Desulfurization in Industrial and Mining Industry

Desulfurization pumps are widely used in the industrial and mining industry, mainly including flue gas desulfurization systems in thermal power plants, industrial waste gas treatment and other fields of desulfurization applications. Under different working conditions, the desulfurization pump needs to have wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties to meet the requirements of different desulfurization processes.

Application of Desulfurization Pump in Flue Gas Desulfurization in Industrial and Mining Industry 1

1. Flue gas desulfurization system of thermal power plants

1. Limestone - Gypsum wet desulfurization

In this desulfurization process, the desulfurization pump plays a key role. First, the slurry made of limestone is transported into the absorption tower through a desulfurization pump and reacted with sulfur dioxide in the flue gas. During this process, the desulfurization pump needs to operate stably in a slurry containing a large amount of solid particles (limestone particles, gypsum particles, etc.) and corrosive chemicals.

The gypsum slurry after reaction also needs to be transported to the dehydration system for treatment. The concentration of gypsum slurry is high and has a certain viscosity, and it has high requirements for the wear resistance and viscosity resistance of the desulfurization pump.

2. Ammonia desulfurization

In the ammonia desulfurization process, a desulfurization pump is also indispensable. Ammonia water or liquid ammonia is transported into the absorption tower through a desulfurization pump, and reacted with sulfur dioxide in the flue gas to form an ammonium sulfate solution. During this process, the desulfurization pump needs to withstand the corrosiveness of ammonia water and the wear of solid particles that may exist in the ammonium sulfate solution.

The ammonium sulfate solution after the reaction needs to be transported to subsequent processing steps through a desulfurization pump, such as crystallization, drying, etc. Ammonium sulfate solution has certain corrosion and viscosity, and has high requirements for the performance of desulfurization pump.

2. Industrial waste gas treatment

1. Desulfurization of sintered flue gas in steel plant

During the sintering process of the steel plant, a large amount of waste gas containing sulfur dioxide will be generated, which needs to be desulfurized. In this process, the desulfurization pump is responsible for transporting the desulfurization agent (such as lime, limestone, etc.) to the desulfurization device and reacting with the sintered flue gas. Since the sintered flue gas contains a large amount of dust and impurities, the wear resistance of the desulfurization pump is highly required.

2. Chemical plant waste gas desulfurization

During the production process, chemical plants will emit various waste gases containing harmful gases such as sulfur dioxide, which need to be desulfurized. In the desulfurization of waste gas in chemical plants, the desulfurization pump is mainly responsible for transporting desulfurization agents (such as alkaline solutions such as sodium hydroxide and sodium carbonate) to absorption towers or other desulfurization equipment, and reacting with sulfur dioxide in the waste gas. Due to the complex composition of chemical plant waste gas, it may contain a variety of corrosive substances and impurities, and the corrosion resistance and clogging resistance of the desulfurization pump are highly required.

III. Desulfurization application in other fields

1. Desulfurization of nonferrous metal smelting flue gas

During the non-ferrous metal smelting process, such as copper, lead, zinc and other smelting plants, they will produce flue gas containing sulfur dioxide, which needs to be desulfurized. The application of desulfurization pumps in this field is similar to that of thermal power plants, and are responsible for delivering desulfurization agents to absorption towers or other desulfurization equipment to react with sulfur dioxide in flue gas. Since non-ferrous metal smelting flue gas may contain high concentrations of dust, heavy metals and other impurities, the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the desulfurization pump are required to be higher.

The desulfurization products after the reaction also need to be processed and disposed of. In this process, the desulfurization pump is responsible for transporting the slurry containing gypsum, calcium sulfite and other substances to the precipitation tank or other treatment equipment.

2. Small boiler flue gas desulfurization

For some small industrial boilers or civil boilers, flue gas desulfurization treatment is also required. Desulfurization pumps usually adopt a miniaturized and efficient design in the desulfurization of flue gas of small boilers to adapt to boiler systems of different sizes. For example, in boiler flue gas desulfurization systems in some small factories or hotels, small desulfurization pumps are used to transport the desulfurization agent into a simple desulfurization device, such as a spray tower or a cyclone plate tower, to achieve desulfurization of flue gas. Although the treatment scale is small, the reliability and operating cost of the desulfurization pump are high to ensure the stable operation and economic rationality of the system.
