High chrome alloy and rubber impellers have its own features when used in slurry pumps. When selecting the impeller material, it should be determined according to the specific working conditions and the characteristics of the conveying medium to ensure the stable operation and efficient performance of the slurry pump.

Only when the device characteristic curve is as close as possible to the similar parabola after speed changing, will the working point after speed changing keep high efficiency. Speed regulation is suitable for big power pumps and applications where head changes dramatically.

Common metal parts in Warman slurry pumps include impellers, F.P.L Insert , volute liners, and throat bushings. These parts are exposed to highly abrasive slurries and are typically made of high chrome alloy for superior wear resistance. Structural parts such as casing and bearing housings are usually made of grey or ductile iron.

Slurry pump is mainly used to convey solid-liquid mixture containing hard particles, widely used in coal, metallurgy, mining, thermal power, chemical industry, water conservancy and other industries. The transported solid-liquid mixture in the high-speed rotating impeller presents non-regular movement, the pump overflow parts in this "liquid sand wheel" working conditions, subject to strong wear and tear, but also to bear the corrosion of the medium, resulting in shortening the life of overflow parts. Therefore, the design of slurry pump is fundamentally different from the design of water pump. The design of clean water pump mainly pursues efficiency and cavitation index, while slurry pump should focus on cavitation, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. while pursuing efficiency.
