How To Correctly Test The Slurry Pump, And What Should Be Paid Attention To?

Before starting the slurry pump, the pump inlet valve should be expanded, the pump outlet valve should be closed, and then the pump should be started. After the pump is started, slowly open the pump outlet valve. The size and speed of the pump outlet valve should be controlled by the fact that the pump does not vibrate and the motor does not exceed the rated current.Slurry pumps are currently widely used in the power, metallurgy, mining, coal, building materials and other industries to transport corrosive and abrasive slurry. The rational choice and correct application of its working range are the key to improving its life and an important factor in whether the pump can operate stably. When the pump is running, the * point on its characteristic curve is determined by the characteristic curve of the pump at this speed and the characteristic curve of the pipeline at its specific flow rate. The intersection of the characteristic curve of the pump and the characteristic curve of the pipeline is the working point of the pump. This point determines the working flow, head, efficiency and power consumed of the pump. If the working point is not selected properly or is selected properly but changes in working conditions, it will cause serious deviations from the reasonable working range. In this case, even if the pump has excellent performance, it is difficult to fully utilize its performance, which not only causes frequent pump failures, but also speeds up its damage. Therefore, taking the slurry pump as the research object, its main performance under different working conditions is tested, the working conditions are accurately evaluated, and the operation is ensured in efficient areas and the on-site testing automation of the slurry pump industry is realized.Test operation and precautions of slurry pump 1) Open the shaft sealing water and cooling water to adjust the pressure to the specified value; open the inlet valve*; open the water injection valve to inject water into the pump (no need for the backflow pump); adjust the opening of the outlet valve to 1/4; start the unit. After the speed is normal, open the outlet pressure gauge. If the pressure is normal and stable, open the outlet valve slowly until * is opened or meets the working conditions requirements.Note: Starting the pump with a fully open outlet state will cause motor overload; using a small inlet valve to control flow will cause pump cavitation of the pump, which should be avoided!2) Things to note when starting the pump: Because the filler is pressed too tightly, when the pump rotates, the filler is heated and smoke is emitted. The filler gland nut should be loosened to cause the shaft seal water to leak, and then tighten slowly until it penetrates. After normal operation, the following should be observed: whether the flow head of the pump is stable and meets the process requirements; whether the current is stable; whether the unit has abnormal noise and whether the noise is too high; whether the shaft seal leakage is normal (drip seepage); the bearing temperature rises by 35 degrees, and the highest temperature shall not be greater than 75 degrees.3) Before stopping the pump, clean water should be pumped for 30 minutes to clean the slurry in the pump and pipelines; close the pump outlet valve; close the corresponding shaft sealing water and cooling water; close the pump inlet valve.Note: It is never allowed to stop the pump when the outlet valve is fully opened, otherwise it is easy to form a water hammer and cause damage to the slurry pump or pipe fittings.

Selection and Installation Rules of V-Belts for Slurry Pumps
The selection and installation of V-belts have a significant impact on the performance of slurry pumps. The most commonly used transmission method in slurry pumps is the V-belt drive. Standardized V-belts have a trapezoidal cross-section and are made in endless loops without joints.
Why are China ZJ slurry pumps mostly direct coupled (DC)?

Structural Features and Applicable Working Conditions of Vertical Slurry Pumps
The pump shaft of a vertical slurry pump is perpendicular to the horizontal plane. Since vertical slurry pumps are typically used in slurry pits to pump slurry, the pump head must be submerged below the liquid surface, hence the alternative name ‘submerged slurry pump.’
How Does the Number of Slurry Pump Impeller Vanes Affect the Head?

The basic equations for slurry pumps are derived based on the assumption of an infinite number of vanes. Because slurry pump impellers have many vanes and long flow passages, they can better define the trajectory of the liquid within the passage, so the assumptions are relatively close to the actual flow.
