As One Of The Core Of The Slurry Pump, There Are More Than One Type Of Impeller

As the core of the slurry pump, the impeller is an important part of pump products. The impeller refers to a roulette with moving blades, as well as a general term for the roulette and the rotating blades installed on it.As a consumable, there are more than one type of impeller, including semi-open impeller, closed impeller and open impeller, each with its own advantages.First, let’s take a look at the closed impeller. It consists of blades and front and rear covers. The closed impeller is efficient and difficult to manufacture, so most slurry pump manufacturers prefer to use it.Suitable for transporting clean liquids without low viscosity particles, such as water and solutions. There are generally two types of semi-open impeller structures: one is the front half-open type, composed of a rear cover plate and a blade. The impeller efficiency of this structure is low and requires the use of an adjustable gap sealing ring to improve efficiency; the other is the rear half-open type, consisting of the front cover plate and the blade.Since it can apply the same sealing ring as the closed impeller, its efficiency is basically the same as the closed impeller, and the blades also have sealing functions (rear blade or auxiliary impeller) in addition to conveying liquid. The semi-open impeller is suitable for transporting liquids containing suspended solids such as solid particles and fibers. The manufacturing of semi-open impeller is difficult, low in cost and strong adaptability. It is gradually used in the slurry pumps of the refining and chemical industry to transport clean water and liquids similar to clean water. There are also open impellers: only blades and blade reinforcement ribs, and impellers without front and rear covers (the number of open impellers is less than 2-5 blades). The impeller is inefficient and has few applications, and is mainly used to transport high viscosity liquids and slurry liquids. The blades of the slurry pump impeller are generally backbend blades. There are two types of blades: cylindrical and twisted. The application of twisted blades can reduce the load on the blades, improve the suction performance of the slurry pump, and improve the resistance to cavitation, but it is difficult to manufacture and has high cost. The slurry pumps for oil refining and chemical industries require the impeller to be cast or welded. With the development of welding impellers, they are mostly used for chemical slurry pumps made of metal materials with poor casting performance (such as iron and its alloys). The geometric accuracy and surface finish of the welding impeller are better than those of the cast impeller, which is conducive to improving the efficiency of the slurry pump.

Pumps for Quartz Sand_Rubber-Lined Slurry Pumps in Quartz Sand Beneficiation Equipment
Quartz sand beneficiation focuses primarily on purification, a technically challenging separation process aimed at removing minor or trace impurities from quartz sand to produce refined quartz sand or high-purity quartz sand. Common purification techniques employed domestically and internationally include: Washing, Classification & Desliming, Scrubbing, Magnetic Separation, Flotation, Acid Leaching, and Microbial Leaching.
The Ultimate Guide to Slurry Pumps: Types and Applications
Selecting the right slurry pump ensures efficient performance, especially when dealing with high-volume and abrasive slurries. The ideal pump depends on the application, material compatibility, and operational demands.
Diagnosis Methods for Cavitation in Warman Slurry Pumps

The following techniques can be used to determine whether cavitation is occurring in a slurry pump:a. Ultrasonic testing b. External noise monitoring c. Vibration analysis
Horizontal Slurry Pumps: Principles & Application
Because they offer longevity, efficiency, and adaptability, horizontal slurry pumps are crucial for sectors handling abrasive slurries. Knowing their values, applications, and maintenance needs allows businesses to maximize performance and reduce expenses.
Commissioning of Slurry pumps
Slurry pump commissioning must be strictly conducted in accordance with established procedures: Prior to startup, first activate the shaft seal water and adjust it to the specified pressure. Fully open the inlet valve. For non-backflow pumps, water must be injected. After opening the outlet valve to one-quarter, initiate startup; During operation, monitor flow rate, head, current, vibration, and bearing temperature (temperature rise ≤35°C, maximum ≤75°C). Mechanical seal leakage should be ≤3-5 ml/h. Before stopping the pump, flush with clean water for 30 minutes, close the outlet valve first, then shut down the pump, and finally close the shaft seal water and inlet valve. It is strictly prohibited to fully open the outlet valve when stopping the pump to prevent water hammer. Throughout the entire trial operation process, ensure that parameters remain stable, avoid cavitation and overload conditions, to ensure safe operation of the equipment.
Common Problems During Feeding of Slurry Pumps
When a slurry pump malfunctions during operation, the first step is to identify the cause of the failure. Corresponding repair measures should be taken based on the characteristics of the failure and maintenance experience.
Aspects to Pay Attention to for Slurry Pumps to Run Stably and Efficiently in Series

The advantage of slurry pumps in series is that multiple pumps are arranged in one pump station, which is convenient for installation, maintenance, operation and management, with a total low cost, it can realize overall automatic management. The following aspects should be noted when selecting slurry pumps in series:
The Hazards to Slurry Pumps if Running in a Low Flow Area for a Long Time
The slurry pumps we often use are a type of centrifugal pump. It mainly drives the slurry mixture to rotate through the high-speed rotating impeller blades, and throws out the slurry to achieve the purpose of transportation.
The methods for adjustment the flowrate of slurry pumps
The flowrate adjustment method of slurry pump can be selected in various ways according to different needs and occasions. The following are some common flowrate adjustment methods:
Five Main Reasons for the Blockage of Slurry Pumps
Uneven medium density is one of the reasons for the blockage of slurry pumps. When the medium density is uneven, the pump may vibrate at the beginning of the startup, but this vibration usually disappears when the pump starts normally.
