Common Faults and Solutions for Slurry Pumps

1. The slurry pump cannot be started

First, check the power supply situation: whether the connector is connected firmly; whether the switch contact is tight; whether the fuse is blown; whether the three-phase power supply is equal. If there is a circuit breaker, poor contact, fuse blown, or phase missing, the cause should be found and repaired in time. Secondly, check whether it is a mechanical failure of the water pump itself. Common reasons include: the filler is too tight or the impeller and the pump body are stuck and blocked by debris; the pump shaft, bearing, and leakage ring are rusted; the pump shaft is severely bent, etc. Exclusion method: Relax the filler and unclog the water drain; remove debris and remove rust from the pump body; remove the pump shaft to correct or replace the new pump shaft.

2. The slurry pump does not rotate

If the hard sediment in the vortex shell is silted, measures can be taken to remove the silt.

3. Insufficient flow of slurry pump

If the impeller or the inlet and outlet pipes are blocked, the impeller or pipeline can be cleaned. If the impeller is worn seriously, replacement should be taken. If the filler outlet leaks, the filler should be tightened.

The power speed of the slurry pump is not matched or the belt slips, which makes the speed too low; the installation angle of the axial flow pump blade is too small; the head is insufficient, the pipeline is too long or the pipeline has right-angle bent; the suction range is too high; the bottom valve, pipeline and impeller are locally blocked or impeller defects; the outlet pipe is seriously leaking. Exclusion method: restore the rated speed, remove the belt oil and scale, adjust the belt tightness; adjust the blade angle, reduce the installation position of the water pump, shorten the pipe or change the curvature of the pipe; seal the air leakage of the water pump, press the filler; remove blockages, replace the impeller; replace the leakage ring, and plug the water leakage.

4. Pump vibrates and noise

There are mainly five reasons: The medium density is uneven. The uneven medium density causes vibration when the pump is started. When the pump is turned on normally, the vibration of the pump will disappear. This situation does not require treatment. Just be careful to blow the medium with high-pressure wind before driving. The pump is not installed at a level. The level of the pump body should be checked during installation and operation. Cavitation causes the pump impeller to be unbalanced. The installation height should be reduced, the water outlet valve should be adjusted to reduce the import resistance. The intake of the suction pipe is uneven. The feeding condition of the pump should be improved and the uniform stability of the intake should be strengthened. The pump bearing has large clearance. Too large bearing clearance will cause large vibrations of the pump. During daily equipment operation, you should pay attention to the pump condition at any time. If the pump shaft and the motor shaft are different centers or the bearings are damaged, you should deal with it in time.

5. The slurry pump does not absorb water (not slurry)

There is air or air accumulation in the water inlet pipe in the pump body, or the bottom valve is not closed tightly and the water is not full, the vacuum pump packing is seriously leaking, and the gate valve or door is not closed tightly. Exclusion method: Press the water first, then fill the pump body with water, and then turn on the machine. At the same time, check whether the check valve is tight and whether there is any air leakage in the pipeline and joint. If air leakage is found, apply lubricating oil or blending paint on the joint after disassembly and tighten the screws. Check the oil seal ring of the water pump shaft. If it is worn seriously, replace the new parts. The pipe is leaking or leaking. The nut may not be tightened during installation.

6. The slurry pump heats up

Causes: The bearing is damaged; the gap between the rolling bearing or bracket cover of the slurry pump is too small; the pump shaft is bent or the two shafts are not centered; the tape is too tight; oil is lacking or oil is not good; the balance hole on the impeller is blocked, and the impeller loses balance, increasing the thrust to one side. Exclusion method: Replace the bearing; remove the back cover and install gaskets between the bracket and the bearing seat; investigate the pump shaft or adjust the concentricity of the two shafts; appropriately loosen the tape tightness; add clean butter, and the butter accounts for about 60% of the gaps in the bearing; remove clogs in the balance hole.
