Generally speaking, there are direct coupling drive and belt drive types for slurry pump transmission methods.

Direct drive has reliable operation, low failure rate, no loss of rotation, and high efficiency, but the speed is fixed and it is not suitable for working accurately at the required operating point.

Belt drive (including CR, CL, CV, ZV) is easy to change the working parameters of the pump, has a wide range of pump selection, and is easy to achieve the required operating parameters, but it is easy to lose rotation, has low transmission efficiency, is easy to damage the belt, has high operating costs, and has poor reliability.。

Both transmission methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. When choosing a transmission method, in addition to considering the pump speed and the motor speed, special site requirements should also be considered.

Slurry pump manufacturer CNSME Pump Company also advises that ZV transmission slurry pumps with larger motors have higher motor supports in the baseplate, which can cause vibration during startup and shutdown. In this case, the motor supports in the baseplate should be reinforced, or the ZVZ transmission should be avoided if the motor is larger.
