The Maintenance Of The Wearing Parts Is Good, Which Can Save A Lot Of Trouble For The Maintenance Of

In order to extend the service life of the slurry pump, we need to strengthen its daily maintenance.Since some of its parts are consumable parts, the wear of the consumable parts must be carefully observed during use and repair or replace them in time. The consumable parts are maintained, and the pump body is really worry-free.

1. The pump shell is generally cast iron, which is susceptible to mechanical or thermal stress and is not easy to break. When the mud pump freezes due to cavitation during work or the water from the pump shell is not released in winter, it is also easy to break. If the damage is too large and cannot be repaired, a new pump shell should be replaced.

2. The pump shaft is usually made of carbon steel, but it is easily damaged due to the quality of manufacturing, use or installation. The pump shaft may have cracks, bends, wear of the journal, and damage to the threads. It may also cause a fracture accident. In case of serious damage, do not replace the shaft.

3. The impeller of the slurry pump is an important working part and is made of cast iron.It is also easy to damage due to manufacturing quality and use reasons, the impeller may have cracks, and due to cavitation, the surface of the impeller may appear dents or perforations, and the blades will become thinner or eccentricly worn for a long time, or even be damaged by debris. Some defects can be repaired, and some defects cannot be repaired, that is, a new impeller should be replaced.

4. The bearing bushing of the sliding bearing is made of copper-tin alloy, with poor wear resistance and is one of the easily wearable parts that are easy to wear and flammable.Usually, bearing bushings can be repaired or replaced with new ones, and the average service life of rolling bearings is 5000 hours, but they are prone to wear or damage due to improper installation, long service life or poor maintenance. In addition to replacing the parts of the rolling bearing with new parts, the overall parts usually need to be replaced.

5. The oral ring is also called a ring that reduces leakage or wear. It is one of the components that are prone to wear.Wear can be repaired or replaced with a new one. After replacing the new leakage reduction ring, its inner diameter should be configured according to the outer diameter of the impeller inlet. If the outer diameter of the impeller inlet is worn, it can be rotated to eliminate groove marks and ovals, and then a leak reduction ring with reduced inner diameter is configured.

6. When using filler sealing gasket, the filler will harden for a long time and lose elasticity, which will cause the slurry pump to leak air and water.Usually, new packaging should be replaced.

7. Oil seals are rubber products that are prone to wear and aging, and generally require new parts to be replaced.

Vertical vs Horizontal Slurry Pumps: Key Differences, Features, and Applications

Slurry pumps are a type of centrifugal pump designed to transport mixtures of liquid and solid particles, such as ore slurry, sand, and mud. Based on structural orientation and installation method, slurry pumps are mainly classified into vertical slurry pumps and horizontal slurry pumps.

While some believe the difference lies only in installation orientation, the reality is more nuanced. These two pump types differ significantly in structure, working conditions, maintenance, and application scenarios. This guide provides a clear, technical comparison to support proper pump selection.

How to Select the Inlet and Outlet Pipe Diameters for Slurry Pumps
This article focuses on the selection of inlet and outlet pipe diameters for slurry pumps, aiming to prevent cavitation, avoid blockage, and reduce system energy consumption. It outlines the fundamental design principle that the inlet pipe diameter shall not be smaller than the pump suction diameter, while the outlet pipe diameter shall be matched to flow rate and head requirements. By integrating slurry characteristics, pump performance parameters, and pipeline configuration, the article presents practical pipe sizing approaches and operation-based verification methods, providing technical guidance for stable and reliable slurry pumping systems.
