As a standardized product, the long shaft sump pump is widely used in petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and other industries due to its durability and easy maintenance. However, deviations in installation and manufacturing often lead to various pump failures, with vibration issues being the most common.
Excessive vibration during pump operation is highly detrimental. When vibration exceeds the standard limit, it not only causes loud noise but also damages parts, leading to equipment breakdown, even plant shutdown, and significant economic losses.
Therefore, it is essential to have a clear understanding of the daily fault diagnosis and maintenance of long shaft sump pumps. This helps extend the service life of the pump and prevents unnecessary losses.
Determine maintenance tasks based on operating condition monitoring data, or perform preventive inspections on a regular cycle. Repair or replace defective parts as needed.
When dismantling and replacing main components, the overhaul quality standard must be achieved.
Overhaul items, contents, and quality requirements for long shaft sump pumps—especially for the pump casing (or guide casing) and impeller—should meet the following requirements:
Remove scale and rust; non-machined surfaces may be coated with non-toxic, water-resistant anti-rust paint.
Cooling water holes, pressure gauge holes, and exhaust holes must remain unobstructed.
If casing wall or guide vane erosion exceeds one-third of the original wall thickness, repair or replacement is required.
External dimensions and fit tolerances must conform to the technical drawings. The dimensional deviations of flow passage parts (such as impeller and guide casing) should comply with the current industry standard General Technical Specifications for Long Shaft Deep Well Pumps.
