What Principles Should Be Followed In The Installation Of Slurry Pumps

What principles should be followed for the installation of slurry pumps? The slurry pump is a horizontal, vertical medium-shaped slurry pump with double-cage shell structure. The pump body and pump cover have replaceable metal linings. The lining is made of high chrome wear-resistant alloy material. The lining can be used until it is worn, extending the maintenance cycle and reducing operating costs. The outlet direction of the pump can be rotated and installed at 8 angles.Slurry pumps (slurry pump accessories) can be widely used in mining industries, and transport slurry containing abrasive solid particles in the power, metallurgy, coal, environmental protection and other industries.Such as slurry transportation in metallurgical ore dressing plants, hydraulic ash removal in thermal power plants, coal slurry and heavy media transportation in coal washing plants, dredging river channels, river silting, etc.In the chemical industry, slurry pumps can also transport some corrosive slurries containing crystals.Of course, in different industries, the role of slurry pumps play differently and their working principles are different. The installation of a slurry pump is a complex task, which requires comprehensive consideration of the slurry pump and the on-site situation. The size of the slurry pump itself must meet the standard requirements, and secondly, the on-site working conditions must also meet the installation requirements.(1) Inspection before installation The slurry pump has been inspected and tested before leaving the factory. In order to ensure that it is in a good working condition, it must be installed correctly. Before installation, you should first check whether the model and parameters of the equipment are correct, whether the parts are complete and complete, and whether the technical information and quality proofs carried randomly are complete. After verification, you should read the relevant technical information in detail and master the relevant technical requirements and operating instructions. Only then can the slurry pump be installed. Do not operate blindly.(2) Configuration and requirements of the inlet and outlet pipe section of the slurry pump ① Suction pipeline Suction pipe diameter: The suction pipe diameter should be the same as the inlet diameter of the slurry pump or slightly larger than the inlet diameter of the pump. The principle is to avoid cavitation caused by the slurry pump, and the slurry cannot be deposited in the pipeline.Suction gate valve: To facilitate the maintenance of the slurry pump, a suction gate valve should be installed, with its diameter the same as the diameter of the suction pipe.A telescopic link should be installed between the suction port of the slurry pump and the suction pipe to disassemble and install the slurry pump.② Exhaust pipeline Draining pipe diameter: The discharge pipe diameter is related to the properties of the slurry and the settlement flow rate. Generally speaking, the discharge pipe diameter is equal to or slightly larger than the outlet diameter of the slurry pump.Outlet gate valve: The outlet gate valve should have the same diameter as the discharge pipe.Pressure gauge: located on the straight pipe section between the slurry pump outlet and the valve.③Precautions for pump pipeline configuration: When using a valve to adjust the flow, the regulating valve should be installed at the pump outlet. It is not allowed to be adjusted with a valve on the inlet pipeline to avoid cavitation.(4) Pipeline configuration and requirements for shaft sealing water and cooling water The shaft sealing part where the mechanical sealing pump is installed has two exposed pipe joints. The side of the pressure gauge is the water inlet and the other side is the water outlet. The grease-lubricated bracket is free of cooling water. When lubrication of fillers is used, no shaft sealing water is added.

Problems That Might Occur to Slurry Pumps in Mining

In mining, slurry pumps often face the problem of unstable flowrate. This is mainly caused by air leakage in the suction pipe or bottom valve, blockage of the water inlet, too low voltage resulting in a speed reduction, pipeline leakage, severe wear of the sealing ring or impeller, and insufficient water immersion depth of the bottom valve.
Importance of CNSME slurry pumps to the mining industry
Slurry pumps are critical for the mining industry as they ensure continuous, cost-efficient, and safe handling of highly abrasive slurries in mineral processing, tailings management, and drainage operations, directly preventing costly downtime, reducing energy consumption, and mitigating environmental risks in harsh mining conditions.
Importance of Dynamic Balance Testing for Slurry Pumps

Slurry Pump Dynamic balance testing, in short, is a process to check whether the mass distribution of each component of rotating machinery(such as submersible slurry pumps) is uniform during the rotation process, so as to ensure that the vibration and centrifugal force generated during rotation are minimized. Under the ideal dynamic balance state, when the rotating body rotates at a high speed, the vibration it generates should be as low as possible to avoid adverse effects on the equipment itself and the surrounding environment.
How to choose right wet end parts for slurry pumps?
When choosing wet end parts for a slurry pump, various factors should be taken into consideration to make sure that the parts will perform at their best in actual applications.
