The main reasons why the slurry pump cannot be suppressed include problems in the disk body, installation process and problems during operation. To solve this problem, targeted treatment needs to be carried out according to different situations.

1. The problem of the fundamental body
1. Packing specifications do not match: When the selected packing size does not match the size of the pump shaft or packing box, the packing will not fit tightly and it will be difficult to seal. In this case, the packing may not be installed due to being too tight, or the expected sealing effect cannot be achieved due to being too loose.
2. Poor quality of packs: Poor quality packs may have problems such as uneven material and loose fibers, which will prevent the pack from forming a uniform sealing surface when under pressure, making it easy to leak. In this case, the service life of the pack may be greatly shortened, resulting in frequent replacement and increasing maintenance costs.
2. Issues in the installation process
1. Improper installation method: When installing the pack, if the pack is not carried out in the correct way, such as the incisions of the pack are not staggered and the installation is not compacted by circle, etc., it will lead to poor sealing effect of the pack. The correct installation method can ensure that the packing is closely fitted with the inner wall of the pump shaft or packing box, and improve sealing performance.
2. The packing box is not thoroughly cleaned: If there are old packing fragments, impurities, dirt, etc. in the packing box, it will affect the installation and sealing effect of the new packing box. These foreign objects will cause a gap between the pack and the inner wall of the pump shaft or the packing box, resulting in a lax seal. Therefore, before installing a new pack, be sure to clean the impurities in the packing box to ensure the sealing effect.
3. Problems during operation
1. Pump shaft wear or rough surface: The pump shaft may wear, scratch or rough surface during long-term operation, which can make the seal between the pack and the pump shaft worse. Wearing of the pump shaft may cause the sealing gap of the pack to become larger, thereby affecting the sealing effect.
2. Excessive pressure fluctuation: If the pressure fluctuates too much during operation of the slurry pump, the pressure on the pack will be unstable, which will easily lead to loosening of the pack, thus unable to maintain a good seal. During operation, the pressure should be kept as stable as possible to avoid damage to the packing.
