What Issues Should Be Paid Attention to When Installing the Outlet Pipeline of the Slurry Pump?

The following issues need to be paid attention to when installing the outlet pipeline of the slurry pump:

What Issues Should Be Paid Attention to When Installing the Outlet Pipeline of the Slurry Pump? 1

1. Pipe slope and drainage:

The outlet pipeline should have a certain slope so that the slurry in the pipeline can be discharged smoothly during shutdown. If the pipe has no slope or is insufficient, the slurry may accumulate in the pipe, causing congestion of the pipe and difficulty in starting the pump for the next time. Generally speaking, the slope of the outlet pipeline should not be less than 1% to 2%. The specific slope can be determined based on factors such as the nature of the slurry and the length of the pipeline.

A drain valve should be installed at the lowest point of the pipeline so that the residual slurry in the pipeline can be discharged cleanly during shutdown. The drain valve should be positioned for easy operation and ensure that the surrounding environment will not be polluted when slurry is discharged.

2. Check valve installation:

Installing a check valve on the outlet pipe is necessary, which prevents the slurry from flowing back into the pump during shutdown, causing pump reversal and damage. The type of check valve should be selected according to factors such as the nature of the slurry and pipeline pressure. Common ones include swing check valves, lift check valves, etc.

The installation position of the check valve should be as close as possible to the outlet of the pump, and ensure that its installation direction is correct. Before installation, check the sealing and flexibility of the check valve to ensure that it can work properly.

3. Pipe expansion and compensation:

During operation of the slurry pump, the outlet pipe will expand and contract due to temperature changes and fluid pressure. If appropriate compensation measures are not taken, it may cause deformation, rupture or leakage at the connection. Therefore, compensation devices such as expansion joints or corrugated pipes should be installed on the outlet pipeline to absorb the thermal expansion, cooling and deformation of the pipeline.

The selection and installation of compensation devices should be reasonably designed based on factors such as the diameter, length, temperature range and fluid pressure of the pipeline. At the same time, attention should be paid to the installation direction and fixing method of the compensation device to ensure that it can play a compensation role normally.

4. Pressure monitoring and control:

Install a pressure gauge or pressure sensor on the outlet pipe to monitor the outlet pressure of the pump in real time. By monitoring the outlet pressure, you can understand the operating status of the pump and promptly discover problems such as pipeline blockage and valve failure.

According to the pressure monitoring data, the operating parameters of the pump can be adjusted in time or troubleshooted to ensure the safe and stable operation of the slurry pump. At the same time, a safety valve or pressure regulating valve can be installed on the outlet pipe to control the pressure of the pipe and prevent excessive pressure from causing damage to the pipe and pump.
