As we all know, slurry pumps are an indispensable equipment in the ore dressing industry, and their main function is to provide power for pipeline transportation.
Due to unreasonable use of slurry pumps or blind choices, the pump's energy consumption and wear too quickly. In fact, as long as we choose and use the slurry pump correctly and reasonably according to our situation, we can fully use the slurry pump efficiently. The following are several methods of using slurry pumps reasonably by CNSME PUMP technical engineers:
1. Reasonably select lining materials according to the type of ore
There are many types of lining materials for slurry pumps, such as high-chromium cast iron, high-chromium white-mouth cast iron and wear-resistant rubber. Faced with the choice of many materials, many merchants are undecided. Choose high-chromium cast iron materials, which have good wear resistance and are limited to those with coarse and sharp ore dressing plants in the slurry; high-chromium white-mouth cast iron materials have good wear resistance, but their toughness is poor and cannot withstand the rapid impact of large solid particles. Otherwise, it will cause the impeller surface material to fall off and the cross-section will easily form pits due to corrosion; the wear-resistant rubber materials are better than metal materials and have high elasticity, but they are only suitable for transporting fine-grain slurry without edges and corners. Therefore, the choice of slurry pump linings must be made reasonably based on the type of ore, so as to improve the usage rate of the pump.
2. Select according to the actual flow and head
Generally, users only pay attention to the pump flow selection when selecting slurry pumps and ignore the pump head selection. Some people even think that the higher the head, the safer it is, so the head of the selected slurry pump is greater than the actual head demand, and even a lot of electricity is wasted. The choice of slurry pump should be selected according to the actual head requirements to reduce the number of installed machines and save electricity. In addition, it should be noted that when calculating the head, you need to consider the loss of the head to avoid insufficient pump head and affecting the pump irrigation and drainage efficiency.
3. The power of the motor and slurry pump must be properly matched.
The unreasonable power matching of motor and slurry pump is mainly reflected in two aspects: "Big cow pulls a small plow, and a calf pulls a large plow". In particular, the first phenomenon is particularly large, and the supporting power is selected, resulting in a lot of waste of electricity. The latter's matching power is chosen to be small, that is, "a calf pulls a big plow", which will cause insufficient slurry supply to the slurry pump. The motor overload or the inactive pump cannot guarantee the safe and economical operation of the equipment. The solution is to be reasonable in matching the power of the motor and the slurry pump.
4. Scientific and reasonable installation of slurry pumps
If conditions permit, when installing the slurry pump, try to minimize the amount of elbows or cancel the "three valves". The pipeline should be straight and short. Do not set the outlet pipe to "anti-air gun" type. You can use under-lying installation, tilt installation and other methods to reduce losses. The diameter of the pipeline has a great impact on the loss of head. It is best to adopt a grade of slurry pump diameter slightly larger, which can improve the conveying efficiency of the slurry pump.
The above four types are introductions of the reasonable selection and use of slurry pumps. As long as the ore dressing plant uses these methods reasonably, it will definitely improve the production efficiency of its own ore dressing plant and achieve the purpose of energy saving and efficiency.
