Coal slurry conveying: In a coal preparation plant, the raw coal must first be broken into a suitable particle size, and then mixed with water to form coal slurry. The slurry pump can transport this coal slurry from the raw coal bin or crushing workshop to washing equipment such as jitters, heavy medium cyclones, etc. For example, in a large coking coal washing plant, the slurry pump needs to transport coal slurry composed of coal particles with a particle size of 0 - 50mm and water to the jitter for washing at a stable flow rate and speed, and the coal slurry concentration it conveys may be around 30% - 50%.

Adapt to differences in coal quality: The properties of raw coal in different coal mines are different, such as the hardness, particle size, gangue content, etc. of coal. The slurry pump can adapt to the transportation of coal slurry of various coal quality. For coal with high hardness, the overflow components of the slurry pump (such as impellers and pump shells) use wear-resistant materials (such as high chromium alloys) to resist the wear of coal particles; for coal slurry with more gangue, its larger overflow channel can ensure the smooth passage of gangue particles to prevent blockage.

Coal slime water treatment process

Coal slime water collection and transportation: A large amount of coal slime water will be generated during the coal washing process. The slurry pump is used to collect this coal slime water from various washing equipment (such as flotation machines, shakers, etc.) and transport it to the coal slime water treatment system. For example, the coal sludge water discharged from the tailings outlet of the flotation machine is transported to the concentrator through a slurry pump for preliminary precipitation treatment.

Recycled water supply: After the treated coal sludge water, part of the clean water can be circulated back to the washing equipment through the slurry pump to wash coal again, realizing the recycling of water resources. During this process, the slurry pump needs to ensure the quality and flow of circulating water to meet the requirements of the coal washing process. For example, the clear water overflowed from the concentrator is transported back to the jitter through a slurry pump to provide stable washing water for the jitter.

Coal slime recovery and transportation: Coal slime will form after coal slime water precipitates. The slurry pump can extract these coal slime from the bottom of the sedimentation tank or the coal slime collection equipment and transport it to the coal slime drying equipment or the coal slime filter press for further processing. For example, in some coal preparation plants that use filter presses to treat coal sludge, the slurry pump transports the coal sludge to the feed port of the filter press, and after filtration, it obtains coal sludge products with low moisture content.

Fine coal and gangue treatment process

Fine coal transportation: The washed and selected fine coal needs to be transported whether in the form of wet coal or coal slurry. The slurry pump can transport the refined coal slurry to the refined coal dehydration equipment or the refined coal silo. For example, in some coal preparation plants that use centrifuges to dehydrate refined coal, the slurry pump transports the refined coal slurry to the feed port of the centrifuge, removes the moisture in the refined coal by centrifugal force to obtain dry refined coal products.

Garrot emission: Garrot separated during coal washing usually mixes with water to form gangue slurry. The slurry pump can transport the slurry to the slurry yard or slurry filling area. For example, in the gangue backfilling project of coal mines, the slurry pump transports the slurry slurry to the goaf for filling, which not only treats the slurry but also reduces the environmental problems caused by the pile of gangue on the ground.
