How To Solve The Problem Of Insufficient Flow In The Hydraulic System Of The Slurry Pump?

When using the slurry pump, sometimes encounters insufficient flow in the hydraulic system. Don’t worry, you can refer to the following content for analysis and solution.

If the impeller, water inlet and outlet pipe are blocked, please clean the impeller or water pipe.

If the impeller is severely worn, it should be replaced.

If the packing port leaks, the packing should be tightly pressed.

The power speed of the slurry pump does not match or the belt slips, resulting in a reduced speed; the installation angle of the axial flow pump blade is too small; the head is insufficient, the pipe is too long or the pipe is bent at a right angle; the suction process is too high, the valves are partially blocked at the bottom of the pipe and impeller or impeller defects; the outlet pipe is seriously leaking.

Solution: Restore the rated speed, remove grease on the belt, adjust the tightness of the belt; adjust the blade angle, reduce the installation position of the water pump, shorten the pipeline or change the curvature of the pipeline; seal the leakage of the water pump, press the filler; remove blockage and replace the impeller; replace the leakage reduction ring to prevent leakage.

1. The oil pump does not drain; check and repair the oil pump.

2. The pressure of the sequence valve is too low or the slide valve is stuck in the open position; repair the sequence valve.

3. The oil filter is blocked; clean the oil filter.

4. The oil level in the oil tank is too low, and the oil pump is drained; replenish oil.

5. The viscosity of hydraulic oil is too high and it is difficult to absorb oil; change the engine oil or increase the engine oil temperature.

6. The internal parts of the slurry pump are seriously worn, with large internal leakage, and the pressure and flow cannot reach the rated value. Repair or replace the oil pump.

Vertical vs Horizontal Slurry Pumps: Key Differences, Features, and Applications

Slurry pumps are a type of centrifugal pump designed to transport mixtures of liquid and solid particles, such as ore slurry, sand, and mud. Based on structural orientation and installation method, slurry pumps are mainly classified into vertical slurry pumps and horizontal slurry pumps.

While some believe the difference lies only in installation orientation, the reality is more nuanced. These two pump types differ significantly in structure, working conditions, maintenance, and application scenarios. This guide provides a clear, technical comparison to support proper pump selection.

How to Select the Inlet and Outlet Pipe Diameters for Slurry Pumps
This article focuses on the selection of inlet and outlet pipe diameters for slurry pumps, aiming to prevent cavitation, avoid blockage, and reduce system energy consumption. It outlines the fundamental design principle that the inlet pipe diameter shall not be smaller than the pump suction diameter, while the outlet pipe diameter shall be matched to flow rate and head requirements. By integrating slurry characteristics, pump performance parameters, and pipeline configuration, the article presents practical pipe sizing approaches and operation-based verification methods, providing technical guidance for stable and reliable slurry pumping systems.
