Centrifugal slurry pump is a type of centrifugal pump. It is a device that increases the energy of liquid water and solid particles through the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the pump impeller. The design principle of the centrifugal slurry pump is basically the same as that of the ordinary centrifugal pump. However, the slurry pump conveys a mixed fluid of liquid and solid, and its working medium is no longer just a simple one-way fluid. From this point of view, its design principle is different from the design method of ordinary centrifugal pumps. At this stage, looking at the traditional domestic slurry pump designs are mostly based on empirical designs based on one-way flow theory. The slurry pump shaft seal designed in this design method is seriously leaking, has low working efficiency, poor wear resistance in the overflow part, and short service time.

At present, there are two major problems in the work of slurry pumps that need to be solved urgently:

First, the problem is the wear of components in the overflow part of the slurry pump.

Second, the problem is the low working efficiency of the centrifugal slurry pump.

Since the overflow of some parts of the centrifugal slurry pump can directly lead to the loss of working materials, and it will also cause a series of indirect consequences, such as safety issues, service life issues, etc., the economic efficiency of the slurry pump is not fully reflected.

The problems caused by wear of slurry pumps are mainly manifested in:

1. Affects work efficiency. As the gap between the impeller and the pump body wears each other, the pump content efficiency gradually decreases, and the overflow surface becomes uneven as the wear increases, which seriously affects the working efficiency of the centrifugal slurry pump.

2. Increase the maintenance time. As the wear degree in the slurry pump is getting greater and greater, regular maintenance can no longer ensure the normal operation of the slurry pump, which significantly increases the number of repairs, and the maintenance work will gradually lengthen.

3. Reduced operating quality. The wear generated by the overflow surface of the centrifugal slurry pump has caused uneven consequences, which promotes the development of local disturbance of the water flow and cavitation. Asymmetric wear of the impeller will cause mechanical imbalance. These reasons will intensify the vibration of the centrifugal pump, shorten the life of bearings and mechanical seals, and reduce the quality of operation.
