Daily check

Appearance inspection: Check the appearance of the feed pipe before and during operation each time the slurry pump is started. Check whether there are cracks, deformation, damage on the surface of the pipe, and whether there are looseness or leakage in the connection area. If there are obvious scratches, depressions and other damages on the surface of the pipeline, the impact on the performance of the pipeline should be evaluated in a timely manner.

Vibration and noise check: Pay attention to listening to the feed tube for abnormal vibration and noise during operation. If vibration is found to be exacerbated or abnormal noise, it may be caused by unstable pipeline fixation, foreign objects are blocked inside, or unstable slurry flow, etc., and the machine needs to be shut down in time to check and troubleshoot.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning: Regularly clean up slag and dirt inside the feed pipe. Slag accumulation and dirt can affect the flow performance of the slurry and increase the risk of pipe wear and blockage. A suitable cleaning cycle can be formulated according to the nature and use of the slurry. During cleaning, you can use high-pressure water guns, air compressors and other tools to flush or purge.

Prevent blockage: Check the filter mesh or grid at the feed port to prevent large particles from entering the feed pipe and causing blockage. If the filter is found to be damaged or severely blocked, it should be replaced or cleaned in time. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that the slurry in the slurry tank is evenly distributed, and avoid excessive local concentrations or large pieces of debris entering the feed pipe.

Wear monitoring

Wall thickness measurement: Regularly use ultrasonic thickness gauge and other equipment to measure the wall thickness of the feed pipe, especially areas that are prone to wear, such as elbows, diameter-changing places, etc. By comparing the measurement data from different periods, we can understand the wear rate of the pipe. When the wall thickness wear exceeds the specified value, it should be repaired or replaced in time.

Observe signs of wear: During shutdown inspection, carefully observe the wear of the inner wall of the feed pipe to see if there are obvious wear grooves, holes or thinning areas. If local wear is found to be severe, the reasons should be analyzed, such as whether it is caused by factors such as high slurry flow rate and uneven particle concentration, and corresponding measures should be taken to adjust it.

Repair and replacement

Small-scale repair: For small-area wear or damage on the feed pipe, repair methods can be used to deal with it. For mild wear, repair can be restored by spraying wear-resistant coatings, surfacing wear-resistant materials, etc. to restore the wear-resistant performance of the pipeline. For smaller cracks, welding can be used for repair, but attention should be paid to the welding process to avoid degradation in pipeline performance due to improper welding.

Overall replacement: When the feed pipe is worn or damaged in a serious degree and cannot be continued through repair, overall replacement should be carried out in a timely manner. When replacing, select appropriate pipes and specifications to ensure that the new feed pipe matches the slurry pump and other connecting parts, and install them strictly in accordance with the installation requirements to ensure that the connection is firm and the seal is good.
