The wetted parts are available in either metal or rubber. When the conveyed slurry is highly abrasive but requires low corrosion resistance, rubber wetted parts can be chosen to reduce costs while providing good wear resistance.
Corrosion Issues: Alkaline materials are corrosive and can cause chemical corrosion to the metal components of the slurry pump. This corrosion not only affects the performance of the slurry pump but may also shorten its service life. Due to the presence of alkaline corrosion, the material selection for the slurry pump must consider its alkali resistance. Different alkaline materials and concentrations have varying levels of corrosiveness to materials, so it is necessary to select appropriate materials for key pump components, such as the pump casing, impeller, and shaft seal, based on specific operating conditions.
In terms of working principle, slurry pumps belong to the category of centrifugal pumps. Conceptually, they refer to equipment that converts electrical energy into the kinetic and potential energy of solid-liquid mixed media by means of centrifugal force (generated by the rotation of the pump impeller).
