Before using a slurry pump, a series of necessary inspections must be carried out to ensure its normal operation and extend its service life. The following are key inspection steps:
1. Check Equipment Status:
Ensure the slurry pump, pipelines, and valves are clean, dry, free from oil stains, and leak-free.
Check that the oil level in the bracket is appropriate, near the oil level line, with a tolerance not exceeding ±2 mm.
Inspect whether the pump operates with abnormal sounds, vibration, or leaks, and address any issues promptly.
Check the support structure of the inlet and outlet pipeline systems for looseness, whether the pump body is properly supported, and the fastening of the pump on the foundation.
2. Check Electrical Connections:
Inspect the electrical connections of the slurry pump and its auxiliary equipment for tightness, absence of leakage or short circuits, and ensure the power voltage meets requirements.
3. Check Fluid Properties:
Verify that the working fluid meets requirements, including liquid concentration, temperature, pH level, and check for the presence or excess of impurities.
4. Check Rotation Direction:
Test the motor's rotation direction to ensure it matches the pump’s specified rotation direction. The motor should be tested separately, not together with the pump.
5. Check Key Components:
Inspect all bolts on the pump for tightness, especially the anchor bolts.
Check whether the elastic pads in the coupling are intact and correctly installed, and whether the belts are damaged, insufficient, or properly tensioned.
Ensure the motor shaft and pump rotate concentrically and that the pulleys are aligned.
Verify that the bearing oil in the bearing housing is filled to the position indicated by the oil gauge.
6. Prepare for Startup:
Before starting the slurry pump, open the shaft seal water (cooling water for mechanical seals), ensuring the water is clean and the pressure is appropriate.
Open the pump inlet valve and close the pump outlet valve.
After completing the above inspections, the slurry pump can be started and operated. During use, regular checks should be conducted on various components of the slurry pump, such as whether there are foreign objects inside the pump body, whether the bearings and seals are functioning normally, and whether the motor is operating properly.
By performing these necessary inspections and preparations, the safe and stable operation of the slurry pump can be ensured, improving production efficiency and extending the equipment's service life.
